Ryker is eleven months old...my baby is growing up! He is so much fun! He is so close to walking, he will take a couple steps all by himself here and there. And he looks so proud when does it. He still absolutely loves playing with Mozzie, and wavering her toys in front of her face. He loves it when Kev tries to tickle him. He will run to me and then take sly looks at Kev waiting for him to come back and get him. He loves to play in the grass. Loves to play in the water. Loves to play with cords (phone charging, computer charging cords). Still loves the leash. Rarely plays with his toys. Loves to read books. Loves to pull out everything in cupboards and drawers. Loves to wave around rags/towels. When he is in the mood he is quite a cuddler - it is very rare. But while we were in Arizona, he wasn't sleeping very well so I brought him into bed with me. He just wanted to lay right on my chest, my stomach. Then sometimes when I am laying on the floor doing ab workouts Ryker will crawl over and lay on my stomach. He sleeps through the night every once and awhile and other times is absolutely terrible - no idea why. He got his top two teeth last week and he is still trying to figure that out. He discovered his tongue at the same time but I'm not sure if that's just because his top teeth feel weird against his tongue. Anyways, he is lots of fun.
He looks so old!
I LOVE the weather here!
Perfect timing picture... He did not get that stick in his mouth. Although he did suck on a stick before that picture haha
Oh, he loves my hair dryer, probably because of the cord
My friend, Danielle, took me to the Tulip festival. It was gorgeous. I had no idea there were so many different kinds of Tulips. And the colors were so vibrant! Loved it!
A lady gave Ryker a balloon at the store. It was his first time playing with a balloon, he quite enjoyed it.
He sat like this for half the walk, he was not amused.
Sometimes he gets in really silly moods, where he just laughs and laughs and laughs.
I feel so bad picking him up when he is asleep.
I felt like my mom, making Ryker smile into the sunshine just for a good picture haha
He loves stairs. He saw them at church a couple weeks ago and just went straight for them. Climbed up them with no hesitation. He really likes them, but has no idea how to get down.
Well last week we had the appointment with the hand doctor. We have his surgery scheduled for May 9th. It's going to be an hour and a half. They will remove the extra thumb but will have to keep the tendon from it. Then they will have to reattach the tendon to the real thumb with a pin. So he will have to wear a full arm cast for five weeks. Poor kid! I really hope he has figured out walking by then, because the cast will definitely get in the way of crawling.
Two Sundays ago, a kid in front of us was laying on the ground. Ryker was playing on the ground too. Well the kid noticed Ryker's finger. There have been like 4 people ever who has actually noticed his finger so I haven't really had to deal with it. Well the kid sat up and very loudly was telling his dad about it and wanted his dad to look. It broke my heart and made me actually quite angry. His extra thumb is always getting stuck in his shirt sleeves. It also gets in the way of eating - so he uses his left hand more. So I am really glad we are removing it sooner than later.
